If you want to learn about Dutch art and culture, there is no better place to go then Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum. It contains the largest collection of Dutch art, by displaying more than 80,000 works of art which are saying a story of 800 years of Dutch history. All the stars of Dutch Golden Age are here, among which Rembrandt with his ‘Night Watch’ and Vermeer with his ‘Milkmaid’ are the most famous ones. They were so popular, that not a single painter from 18th or 19th century, before Vincent Van Gogh, was even known outside the Netherlands.

That’s why we will continue our art tour in a museum dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh, a painter which made around 1,800 pieces of art and developed unique style in only 10 years of painting. You will learn about his life and will see some of the masterpieces of this post-impressionist painter here.

There is no better way to explore Amsterdam’s art district and its two greatest museums, than by having the private tour with the art historian that will show you all the highlights and tell you all the stories behind them.
